US WOMEN’S NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM PLAYER ASSOCIATION INVITE LOCAL SOCCER FANS TO “MEET THE PLAYERS”
SOUTHINGTON, Connecticut (June 8, 2007) - In cooperation with the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team Players’ Association and the US Youth Soccer Organization, soccer fans will have the chance to “Meet the Players” from the US National Soccer Team including Kristine Lilly, Abby Wambach, Shannon Boxx, Lindsay Tarplay and more at youth soccer clinics hosted before and after five of its six-games during the 2007 Women’s National Send-Off Series scheduled in E. Rutherford, NJ; E. Hartford, CT; San Jose, CA; Chicago, IL and Carson CA, before heading off to the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in September.

In an effort reach to thousands of soccer fans on a personal level and to encourage physical activity and soccer participation among our nation’s youth, numerous activities to promote the sport and connect with local youth soccer players will be hosted. Pre and post-game clinics will be available including two (2) pre-game, 1-hour clinic sessions and one (1) post-game, 4-hour exclusive training sessions in all cities.

Pre-game, 1-hour clinics will expose players to dribbling and juggling skills combined with personal “Meet the Player” autograph and photo sessions. Registration fee is $40 with a 400-person limit (200 per hour). The post-game, 4-hour exclusive clinic is a comprehensive training session including skill work, shooting, tactical decisions and individual defending and is designed for those players looking for more advanced training. Registration fee is $150 with a 120-person limit.

Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited so interested participants are encouraged to register immediately at www.thesoccerchampionstour.com. The players’ association has developed reduced clinic/game ticket packages that offer a $10-15 saving based on clinic entry and seat selections for all soccer fans. Game tickets are also available for family and friends interested in cheering on the team during their USA vs. Brazil match.

Volunteer coaches and players’ ages 19 or older are needed to assist the national players during both clinics.
